Negre Nouveau, the revival

The New Negro—a compilation of literature by and essays about “New Negro” artists and black culture—became a “manifesto” of the movement. Some of black America’s foremost writers contributed stories and poems to the volume. The work of these artists drew upon the African-American experience and expressed a new pride in black racial identity and heritage. Several factors accounted for the birth of the movement and propelled it forward.

Dali Museum

After about a year, I finally had the opportunity to visit the Dali Museum last weekend. His works, a considerable amount, were housed beautifully in the gallery space, complete with the deepest true blue walls i think i have ever seen in a space. Not to take away from the art, but the choice of blue makes his works, new and late, pop of the wall like a small incendiary. The most memorable experiences were perhaps his "masterworks". The shear size of these works alone is captivating, hung at almost 2-3 stories high, they demand attention to the detailed abstract symbolism that exist therein. I [high]ly recommend a visit or two.

This Piece was not there but maybe if you're not familiar with his work this might inspire you to do some research
